Australia - Thursday, 25-SEP

Today Lorraine, Rosie and Bob went to the Telstra tower on top of Black Mountain to get a great view of the entire area. After the tower, we visited Parliament House and got a chance to sit in both the Australian House and Senate chambers. We heard a bit of the discussion and left since we honestly didn't know what they were debating. They do interrupt each other a lot, just like you see on TV.

Telstra Tower (also called the Black Mountain Tower):Here's a picture of Lake Burley Griffin and Cook Memorial Jet from the Telestra Tower. The next photo is a shot of the Canberra city center:Finally, here's a shot of the Mount Majura and Mount Anslie. We plan to climb the Mount Majura on Sunday afternoon. On the drive down from the Telestra Tower, we stopped and got a few wildlife shots. Here's a great picture Rosie got of a wild cockatoo. There are lots of them flying around in the Canberra area. From the Telestra Tower we drove to Parliament House. It's a beautiful setting and it was simply a great day to go.
Here's the crest of Australia with the kangaroo and emu. The Australian flag is flying in the background.
And finally (and everyone said, "Yeah"), here's a picture of Rosie and Lorraine with a statue of Queen Elizabeth. Don't they look "regal"?
